Operabook was developed as a response to the need expressed by Opera Europa members for an independent and objective search tool gathering data from over 450 opera companies worldwide. A group of representatives of our members – artistic administrators, heads of casting and artistic directors from leading houses – led the briefing for the developers at IT4Culture to devise a professional tool to serve their purposes.

Opera Europa has partnered with IAMA and the AEAA’s classicalmusicartists.org to contribute to maintaining correct representation information.

Operabook is included in Opera Europa membership benefits, and has since 2020 therefore become the reference search tool for artists and productions for over 230 companies

Operabook is a not-for-profit endeavour led by Opera Europa, and allows free access to browse the last and current seasons as well as update your own information. If you find incomplete or incorrect information, simply click on ‘suggest a change’ on the page! Consulting historic data requires a subscription.

ARTISTS
Artists may submit changes to their profile page for free to casting@operabook.org.

AGENTS
Artist agents may update their roster for free by e-mailing agent@operabook.org.

Opera companies may submit changes and programming announcements for free to casting@operabook.org.
For full access to the historic data, the possibility to maintain your own company profile and update your data and highlighting productions available for sale/rent, opera companies may subscribe to Operabook.
Opera Europa member access: included in your membership fee, with access to the confidential Future New Productions database for co-productions.
Opera company access: 750€/calendar year
Opera America PCM and OLA member: 600€/calendar year
